As you can imagine, this opens up a number of game situations, and developer BugBear haven’t disappointed. They revolve around the mechanic of propelling a poor racing driver from his seat whilst driving at high speed. Whether playing alone for a high score or against friends, the multitude of games on offer can’t fail to entertain. The derbies are adrenaline-filled affairs, rarely short on carnage, but the mini-games provide something a little unique and what you may well come back to time and time again, even after the main Career mode is done and dusted. #FLATOUT 2 UPGRADE BEGINNER CARS 32 BIT#It’s perfectly possible to work through each tier without attempting the non-standard race events, but where would be the fun in that? Racing itself resembles the kind of arcade fun we used to get from classic arcade racers from the 32 Bit era, but the mini-game-like events and destruction derbies are another kettle of fish. For a game like this that’s exactly how it should be. FlatOut 2 is about as arcadey as an arcade racer can be these days, so don’t expect any fine-tuning options or any other advanced under the hood tweaking. There’s not a huge amount of depth to the upgrade system, with each new component (of a limited set) simply improving your vehicle’s stats in a number of key areas. There’s not a whole lot to say about FlatOut 2, other than it’s damn good fun, but it deserves to have more said about it than that. In the case of FlatOut 2, it’s pure arcade-style spills and thrills for the duration of the ride. There’s a place in the racing genre for strict simulations, but from time to time the shackles need to come off. Even the great man himself, Jeremy Clarkson, likes to fire cars, as if they were cannon balls, into caravans now and again. And that’s how the ID.4’s infotainment, steering wheel controls, window switches, and HVAC controls are VW’s unwisely made every keypress a dim-witted touch capacitive button, that are both not sensitive and hypersensitive. The ID.4’s big trunk and wide seats would work the best for kid and parent duty, something a lot of electric vehicles can’t claim. Out of all of the EVs I’ve driven, the ID.4 is by far the largest, with plenty of space for five adults and their luggage. The ID.4’s roofline is remarkably upright, which pays off big dividends inside. Like, the Ford Mustang Mach-E and Tesla Model Y’s fastback designs are cool looking, but they impede headroom. The current state of the car market would have you thinking everyone wants a compact crossover, but it seems like a lot of electric crossovers have some weird styling feature that compromises practicality. Worse still, it seems like VW didn’t do anything to even remotely trick us into thinking the interior is better than it really is, like using crafty materials or loads of piano black trim. The dashboards’ freestanding infotainment and bi-level dashboard are certainly more interesting than what you’d find in, say a Jetta, but as a whole it’s just not to the same quality standards that one would expect from a 45,000-dollar vehicle. Hyundai and Polestar did a fairly good job giving a premium aura to their products, but Volkswagen’s interior effort feels decidedly cheaper. For some context: Other cars in that price neighborhood include the Mercedes GLC and Cadillac XT5. In fact, it rang up at nearly $45,000 including destination charges. The AR15 doesn’t do anything by itself so why did it get a bad name? Now, my wife’s original point was valid and that is sometimes, preppers give themselves a bad name or turn people off due to their actions, but the paranoia over a little rifle is completely unfounded in my opinion. The AR in AR15 was originally for ArmaLite. ![]() If I am talking about that rifle, it’s called the AR and that name has come to mean different things to people over the years. ![]() That is simply because it’s what we call it. She doesn’t really care about the model numbers either. She only knows the weapons in our house by either the caliber (the 9 or the 40) or type, (shotgun). Now to be fair to my wife, she didn’t know anything about these or any firearm model numbers. Savage, another manufacturer doesn’t use letters in the front of the model number, but numbers (10/110, 10 BA). Ruger has a line of pistols that start with SR and I am not sure, but I would bet that stands for Sturm Ruger (the company’s real name) (SR9, SR40, SR1911). For instance Glock handguns are all named with a G- in the front. Naming a firearm in this fashion isn’t novel either. If you want to read more about the company you can do that on their Wikipedia page. ArmaLite named all of their rifles AR- and then the appropriate number would follow. I had to look it up though because I forgot the manufacturer’s name, but the AR in AR15 is from the company that originally invented that rifle, ArmaLite. I quickly told her that what she was talking about was not correct – that AR does not stand for Assault Rifle. This right here in her mind was a simple example of how an issue like gun control is inflamed entirely based upon a bad naming choice. To prove this point, she said to me, “take the gun issue for example, the people who make guns are just asking for a fight by naming the most common firearm (AR15) an Assault Rifle”. It all boiled down to her saying that a lot of preppers give the entire concept of prepping a bad name. She started to make a point that in some cases, people who are into prepping either don’t show themselves in the most favorable light or outright repel others who might be interested in learning more about the subject of prepping by their actions. I was talking to my wife the other evening about several topics that are common to prepping. ![]() ![]() Netscape management soon decided that the best option was for Eich to devise a new language, with syntax similar to Java and less like Scheme or other extant scripting languages. ![]() They pursued two routes to achieve this: collaborating with Sun Microsystems to embed the Java programming language, while also hiring Brendan Eich to embed the Scheme language.
